Northbound Bicycles is a premium bicycle and accessories brand selling through 200+ dealer outlets across North America and Europe, alongside a direct-to-consumer presence on its own Shopify store and Amazon. The ERP showed one number, Shopify another, Amazon a third, and dealers a fourth — and none of them agreed. Customers were being told an item was in stock when it physically wasn't.
With each channel updating on its own clock, orders were accepted for stock that didn't exist — averaging 2-3 oversells per week per region, each one a refund, a cancellation, and a marketplace rating hit.
200+ dealers self-reported their stock quarterly, and those reports were frequently wrong. HQ only discovered dead stock or regional stockouts when it was already too late to act.
Full physical counts happened once a year per warehouse. By the time discrepancies surfaced, they represented months of accumulated drift with no way to trace when or where they began.
Stockount was deployed across Northbound's warehouses, 3PLs and dealer network as a single counting layer — without disrupting the existing ERP, Shopify or Amazon setups.
Each location was configured as its own storage, every dealer was onboarded to the mobile app, and real-time sync was established with Shopify and Amazon through the Custom ERP API. Because dealers count on their own phones with no ERP login, rollout across 200+ outlets moved quickly.
Each warehouse, 3PL and dealer outlet set up as its own storage zone for clean, segregated counting.
Shopify and Amazon connected via Custom ERP API — counts update every channel the moment they finish.
200+ dealers count on their own phones, without ever logging into the company ERP.
Rolling weekly cycle counts replaced once-a-year physicals across every location.
Management sees count progress and stock positions across every region in real time.
Audit-over-audit comparison surfaces which SKUs, stores and dealers drift first.
Stockount didn't replace any of Northbound's systems — it made every system finally tell the same story, across stores, channels, warehouses and dealers.
Multi-channel oversells across Shopify, Amazon and POS dropped dramatically after real-time sync.
From once-a-year physicals to rolling weekly cycle counts per storage.
200+ dealers now count on mobile — HQ sees every dealer's stock position in real time.
Three fulfilment partners unified as storage zones under one audit plan.
Shrinkage dropped by 0.8 percentage points within two quarters — caught within the week, not the year.
ERP, Shopify, Amazon and dealers finally agree — phantom inventory eliminated.
For years, our inventory was four separate truths. Our ERP had one number, our Shopify store had another, our Amazon listings had a third, and our dealers had a fourth — and none of them agreed. We were apologising to customers every week. Stockount didn't replace any of our systems. It just made every system tell the same story. Phantom stock disappeared. Dealer visibility became real. We stopped guessing.
